Richard R. Phillips is a Managing Director of Janes Capital Partners, a middle market investment banking firm.

Mr. Phillips specializes in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and leveraged recapitalizations, building on over 25 years of operations and investment banking experience within the aerospace and defense sector.

Most recently, Mr. Phillips was a Managing Director with the CIT Group, where he was Head of Aerospace & Defense Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to that he was a Director with Houlihan Lokey, where he co-founded the Aerospace-Defense-Government industry group and led its West Coast team. Before becoming an investment banker, Mr. Phillips worked in the aerospace & defense industry at Hughes Aircraft, Jet Propulsion Laboratory and TRW. There he worked in the fields of cryogenics, infrared sensors, space sensor systems, and superconducting electronics.
